Our head hairs are always a sign of attractiveness and beauty. Whether it is a man or woman, everyone wants a better scalp and better hairs to look good and style them according to the way they want.
A healthy scalp is non flaky, neither too much dry nor too much oily and is soft to touch. It may change according to the age and according to the change in our lifestyle. So prepare a lifestyle which is healthy for your health including your scalp and hairs.
Nowadays, most of the men and women are not fully satisfied with their head hairs. Some are suffering from flakes (flakes doesn't always mean dandruff), some are suffering from excessive hairfall, some are suffering from itching, some are suffering from hair thinness, some are suffering from dullness, hair growth and many more. Their are so much scalp related issues, of which we all have atleast one (except some people).
So, today i am sharing 6 such tips to follow for a better and healthy scalp which can be used to make your hairs look more good than before.
1. A balanced diet :
It is always important to eat a balanced diet whether for your body or for your hairs. A balanced diet should always contain all the nutrients which are healthy for your scalp. Green leafy vegetables, sprouts, beans, citrus fruits such as oranges, walnuts, real eggs, almonds, avocado are good for healthy scalp and can also prevent dull hairs. Try foods which are rich in antioxidants for a better blood circulation, because a better blood circulation is very important for our scalp.
2. Don't wash your hair too often or too late :
When it comes to washing hairs, some people wash their hairs either once in a week or daily. Washing your hairs daily can lead to dryness and your scalp may become too dry and hairs may become dull. This happens because your scalp lose all the moisture. Over washing anything is not good whether it comes to your hairs/scalp or your face. Washing hairs once in a week can cause dandruff or flakes, itching and hair loss. Because once in a week is a very long time for your scalp to be washed, as in today's environment there is so much dust, dirt and pollution affecting the scalp.
Washing your hair twice or thrice in a week can be good for your scalp. Atleast wash twice in a week to promote better hair. This can reduce your scalp related problems. Make sure you use a mild shampoo while washing to maintain the PH balance of your scalp. While choosing a shampoo, people always choose those shampoos which are new or are in trend in the market. But you should always choose a shampoo that is mild on your scalp and can maintain your scalp moisture.
Remember to do oiling before you go for a hair wash. It can naturally add shine to your hairs. You can apply oil overnight in your hairs and scalp and then wash them gently with mild shampoo next morning. You can also use conditioner once in a week for smooth hairs. But do not apply conditioner on roots as it can be harmful for your scalp. You can also use natural conditioning hair masks to condition your hair which are discussed at the end of this blog.
3. Avoid using hair color or any chemical
related treatment :
Many people nowadays are applying hair colors to their hairs due to the trend. This can be so harsh to your hairs and scalp. Hair color contains ammonia which is a bleaching agent and can cause harm to your hairs and also damages your hair. This hair color can also make your hairs dry and rough and can take out all the moisture from the hairs, the moisture which is very-very important for your hairs. If you still want your hairs to look attractive through highlighting or apply hair colors, then instead of highlighting your hairs chemically, you can use highlighted extension for your hairs. Different types of hair extensions are available online and in the market. And in case you are applying hair color for your greys, then go for organic and pure hair colors. Instead of hair colors you can also reduce your grey hairs by applying mustard oil (sarson oil) in your hairs. Mustard oil has properties which may reduce grey hairs or which may reduce the chances of growing grey hairs in future. It can also turn your brown hairs to little bit black-brown in color. You can also use shampoos which are made to stop the spread of grey hairs. They are also available in the market or online.
4. Avoid brushing wet hairs :
When we start brushing our wet hairs, it has more chances of hairfall because during that time our hair roots are soft and they can easily lose their grip. Also when we start brushing wet hairs, the tangles are not fully removed at a time because due to wetness hair sticks among themselves again and again. In that case we start brushing our hairs till when they are not completely tangle-free. This causes excessive hairfall, also damages the hairs and makes them thin. So try brushing your hairs when they are completely dry. To dry hairs instantly, continuously using hair dryers or blow dryers is also harmful for hairs. Try drying your hairs naturally. In case if you are using hair dryers make sure your dryer is minimum 4-5 inches away from your hairs and if possible use dryer only 2-3 times in a month.This can reduce hair damage caused from harmful machine airs. Use normal air dryer instead of warm air dryer as warm air can cause hairfall by making the roots weak.
5. Protect your hair with scarf or cap :
Whenever you go out protect your hair with scarf or cap especially when you go in such areas where there is a lot of traffic and pollution. This is a very simple tip but many people often neglect it. Covering your hair with scarf or cap will protect your hair against dust, dirt, pollution, and also protect your hair from sun heat. Sun heat can absorb all the moisture in your scalp, leaving the scalp dry and dehydrated. Also when you cover your hair, there are less chances of being the hairs rough, damaged and dusty.
6. Try natural hair packs :
You can use some natural hair packs to keep your scalp healthy and moisturized. Natural hair packs are really easy to make just by adding some natural ingredients that are available at your home. And applying them once or twice in a week will be good for your hairs and scalp both.
Some easy and natural hair packs that can be good for your hairs ans scalp are :
A) EGG AND YOGHURT PACK - You will need 1 egg and 2 tablespoons of yoghurt, mix them gently and apply them in your entire hair and scalp. Leave it for atleast 30 minutes and then wash it off. Eggs are rich in proteins that can make your hair smooth, silky and nourished. Yoghurt is rich in probiotics that can help your hair growth and also take care of your hair health. You can also use this mask on alternate days as it is very beneficial and you can also apply only raw egg on your hair. As this can be helpful in volumeinzing your hair and make your hair looks thicker.
B) POTATO, HONEY, ALOEVERA PACK - You will need 1 large potato, 2 tablespoons aloevera gel and 2 tablespoons honey. Grate the potato and sqeeze all the juice. Then mix these three ingredients. Massage this to the roots of your hair for atleast 5-10 minutes. Then cover it with a cap or towel and leave it on your hair for about 1 hour. Then wash it off. Potato juice cleans your scalp and can make your scalp dandruff free. It also promotes hair growth. Combining potato with honey will add a shine into your hair. You can also mix potato juice with egg to form a conditioner that will make hair smooth. Aloevera gel also promotes hair growth, prevents itching on the scalp, reduces dandruff and conditions your hair.
C) MILK AND HONEY PACK - You will need 1 teaspoon of honey and a whole glass of raw milk. Mix both of them and then apply it from your hair roots to tips. Leave it about for 25 minutes. Then wash it off. Milk and honey both can make your hair soft, smooth and shiny. Applying honey to the roots can also helps in fighting scalp infection, redness and itching.
D) BANANA HAIR PACK - You will need 1 banana, 1 teaspoon of almond oil. Ripe the banana and mash it in a bowl using a fork or a spoon. Mix almond drops into it. You can also use olive oil instead of almond oil. Apply the mask gently on you hair from roots to tips and leave it for about for 20 minutes. Wash it off and shampoo like always. Bananas are rich in carbohydrates, vitamins and natural oils that also help in moisturizing your scalp leaving your hair soft, smooth and shiny. It also helps in reducing hair breakage and split ends. Almond oil consists of Vitamin E, Omega 3 fatty acids that can help in nourishing and strengthening your scalp. It is also used in treating hair loss and damaged hair and can also add silkiness to the hairs.
